WHO WE ARE

Proudly Aboriginal owned and led, Sobah is Australia's first non-alcoholic craft beer company run by husband-wife team Clinton and Lozen Schultz. We're based on beautiful Kombumerri country, a part of the Yugambeh language regions, known as the Gold Coast, Queensland.

Sobah is a place with sun and surf where a fresh, crisp drink can be enjoyed without the headache.

We were born from a desire for providing a better choice for those who are not drinking for whatever reason at whatever time. Founded by Gamilaroi man and psychologist, Clinton Schultz, Sobah functions from the philosophies of Gamilaraay Lore ‘dhiriya Gamil’. These include acting from a position of respecting people, place and the environment; understanding and working towards fulfilling responsibilities to that we are connected to; and, engaging in positive reciprocity. We therefore have a responsibility to give back, to create opportunities for others, to encourage sustainable and healthy ways of living, and to assist in bringing about positive changes.

We promote healthy lifestyle choices and wellness, social equity, sustainability, raise positive awareness of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture, smash stereotypes, unite people and of course, our beers quench thirst.

THE SOBAH INITITATIVE

Our real passion is in wellbeing and in this space we intend to support organisations and strategies that are working in ways to help people and communities HEAL. We want to help create spaces for traditional, spiritual and culturally influenced choices and healing opportunities outside the reliance on government funding and control. We support the deadly (awesome) work of Preston Campbell Foundation, The Wayne Weaver Foundation, Foundation for Indigenous Sustainable Health (FISH), Half Cut Org and other businesses and programs surrounding the space of mindful drinking and sobriety, as well as healthy living and sustainability.
